The Lounge is a multi-purpose room with a view of the IJ river and located right next to our subtropical garden, designed by the Hortus Botanicus. Thanks to its warm, intimate atmosphere and flexible layout, the room is suitable for drinks receptions, meetings, and private dining. The presence of a temporary exhibition from the Tropenmuseum Amsterdam makes every occasion extra special.

Malabar

Cocktail bar Malabar is a unique event location on the top floor of Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam, with panoramic views of the IJ river and the city. The space is ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, drinks receptions, and product launches. Malabar can accommodate approximately 50 guests, or up to 150.

Workshops & Activities

Showround

Curious about the story behind Hotel Jakarta and its sustainable architecture? During a guided tour of approximately 45 minutes, we will take you through the building and tell you more about the design and its unique features. The tour costs €15 per person, including coffee, tea, or soft drinks.

Prefer a shorter tour? We can also give a welcome speech in your reserved space.

Spice up your meeting: Sambal workshop

During a two-hour workshop, you will be introduced to the world of sambal. We will start with a short introduction and tasting session with small bites and matching sambals. Then we will demonstrate two types of sambal, and you will get to work in groups to make your own sambal.

The workshop costs €35 per person and can be booked for groups of 10 to 25 people.

Shake it up: Cocktail & Mocktail workshop

During this workshop, our bartender will teach you how to make two cocktails (or mocktails). You will discover the basics of shaking, learn more about spirits, and make one classic and one signature cocktail.

The workshop lasts 1 hour and costs €25 per person, for groups of 10 to 18 people. Available between 12:00 and 16:30.
