Who are we?
We have just opened Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam, the greenest hotel of the Netherlands. It has a subtropical garden in the atrium of the building, This has been achieved in collaboration with de Hortus Botanicus. The hotel also has a co-operation with ‘Tropenmuseum‘. All energy needed by the building is generated by several resources that are located in and around the building.
Architecturally highlight within our history
Hotel Jakarta, designed by SeARCH Architects is an architectural highlight in the history of WestCord Hotels and our years of operation. It all started in 1968 on the Dutch island of Vlieland with Hotel De Wadden, the company now has several hotels through the Netherlands located on Terschelling and Ameland and in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Delft, Leeuwarden, Garderen and Eindhoven. click for more information: WestCord Hotels website.
ss Rotterdam, Hotel New York and Hotel Jakarta
The two most iconic hotels of WestCord Hotels are the ss Rotterdam and
Hotel New York, both located in Rotterdam. Both of these hotels have a part in the history of the Holland America line. Hotel New York is the former head office from the Holland America line, from where people left for America and the ss Rotterdam is one of the former ships used for the crossing. The best part is that where Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam is located is the former location of which people would leave for the east.
Hotels in Amsterdam
Hotel Jakarta is not our first property of WestCord Hotels in Amsterdam. In 2001 we opened Art Hotel Amsterdam, followed by City Centre Hotel Amsterdamand in 2009 Fashion Hotel Amsterdam. And now Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam is officially open.
