Today the last part of the basement floor is poured. In the last week there has been much progress.
A large part of the basement walls, stairways and the elevator shafts has been placed. The installation of these elements is going fast because they were prefabricated. Elements are deliverd by a low-loader at the construction site, and placed in the correct position by crane.
Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam will be a very durable and energy efficient hotel. The construction consists of 30% crushed concrete which is sourced from demolished concrete structures. The concrete structure of Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam actually holds recycled concrete!
Next week the first part of the ground floor wil be poured. In de coming weeks the prefabricated basement walls, elevator shafts and stairwells will be placed. In short, we are ready to slowly build our way up.
