75 Years Moluccan Community – Javakade
On April 29, 2026, the 75th anniversary of the Moluccan community in the Netherlands took place at the Javakade in Amsterdam, directly next to Hotel Jakarta.
During this special gathering, there was a moment of respectful reflection on an important part of Dutch history. The event created space for recognition, reflection, and connection.
Mayor Femke Halsema delivered meaningful and impactful remarks, emphasizing the importance of this history and the position of the Moluccan community. The monument at the Javakade also played a central role and stands as a powerful symbol of the stories and memories connected to this place.
As Hotel Jakarta is located on this historic site, we feel closely connected to its background and significance. It was therefore meaningful for us to contribute, as part of the surrounding community, to this successful and significant gathering.
